It is a remake of the Tamil film Maruthu Pandi. It marked the debut of Superstar Sonali Bendre.

Ayesha Jhulka in leading roles and Raj Babbar as the main antagonist. Other
actors were Rita Bhaduri, Ravi Behl, Shakti Kapoor and Tinnu Anand. The film
fetched good initial box-office collection primarily due to the songs composed
by Bappi Lahiri. It was the eighth highest grossing Bollywood film of 1993.
Music
was by Bappi Lahiri. Gutur Gutur song was a big hit.

Deewana
Mastana is a 1997 Indian Hindi romantic comedy directed by
David Dhawan. The film stars Anil Kapoor, Govinda and Juhi Chawla in pivotal
roles. Johnny Lever, Anupam Kher, Reema Lagoo, Shakti Kapoor, Saeed
Jaffrey, Upasna Singh, Himani Shivpuri, Avtar Gill, Guddi Maruti, Pratibha
Sinha and Kader Khan have supporting roles, while Salman Khan makes a special
appearance.
This film was dedicated
to Manmohan Desai. This film borrows some elements from the 1991 Hollywood
comedy, What About Bob? Johnny Lever received the Filmfare award for Best
Comedian for his performance on this film. The film was music by Laxmikant
Pyarelal.
The film is also noted
for bringing together two superstars Salman Khan and Juhi Chawla together in a
scene, the only time they were paired together.
